The title above expresses a universal truth: when you believe something, it comes out of your mouth. So said Jesus (Matthew 12:34), and so expressed the Apostle Paul…

Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:13-15 (ESV)

So believing not only moves Paul to preach the good news, but it also leads the Corinthians to thanksgiving.

It’s a simple truth but powerful: what we say is a good barometer of what is in our hearts. True believers cannot fail to talk of Jesus in one way or another, perhaps in witness, or likely in praise and thanksgiving. For He Himself said: “out of the overflow of the heart…the mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45)
